Google Mocks Apple In A Tweet about Pixel To Tim cook using An iphone

It isn’t unheard of for a brand or influencer to tweet about something related to Android but actually do it from an iPhone. but there are some times when it’s even much more interesting — like when Google itself does it.

That’s exactly what happened when Apple was publicizing its new iPads earlier this week, using the Twitter hashtag #TakeNote.

What Apple either didn’t realize or didn’t care about was the fact that hashtag was already being used by the NBA’s Utah Jazz. That’s something that was found by the Google Pixel Twitter account, which just couldn’t help itself — so it replied to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Hmmm ok, I See You. NBA fans…#TeamPixel is here to get you closer to your favorite team – tell us yours and we might be able to make your NBA Tip-Off even better.

That in itself would have been fine — tweeting the CEO of Apple about #TeamPixel is a big cringe, but so be it. except as eagle-eyed people soon noticed, that tweet was actually sent from Twitter for iPhone. Not Twitter for Android, then.

The tweet has because been deleted with a replacement tweet sent from Twitter for Web, although this being the Internet it was already too late. someone working on the Google Pixel social team probably had a bad day when they realized what they’d done.
